Another tack would be to do a Sherman III/M4A2 used by the Queen's Bays.

CMD makes an outstanding and affordable Direct vision M4A2 Sherman hull. Goes well with a CMD turret.

I believe the M4A2's at El Alamein had the early horizontal arm as found in the Academy kits, but I don't have my refs handy.
