Hi guys,
Would anyone tell me what’s that rectangular thingie welded to Wespe chassis (left/right side lower hull, visible on the lower hull walljust behind the idler wheel? (look in the pic below, taken from Panzermaniacs site, photo courtesy of Fabien Descamps):

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/panzermaniacs4/images/archives/panzerstoss/Wespe/Wespe_05.jpg

Was this thing a feature of early or late Wespe? What was it’s purpose? The Tamiya Wespe kit lacks this detail and my Aber detail set for the Wespe orders me to glue a PE-shaped thing in that place which appears to match that detail in this picture above.

My second Q: How many Wespe SP guns were equipped with the net surrounding the main exhaust muffler? Aber instructions say some vehicles sported that feature, but I din’t know again if those were early or late versions.

Any tips greatly appreciated,
Regards,
Piotr
