Hi Chris,
There are 2 books that you might want to check out.
"Tigers in Combat I" by Wolfgang Schneider, J.J. Fedorowicz Publishing Inc.
"Tiger I on the Eastern Front" by Jean Restayn, Histoire & Collections
The first one is a little pricey but more details on the battalions. The second one is cheaper.
Tamiya Tiger I Mid Production kit represents a vehicle built during November 1943(External Travel Lock) and January 1944. According to TIC I, 506 received 6
on January 29 and 6 on 30, 1944. So far, I can only find Tiger 13 of the 1st company would seem to have those features provided in Tamiya's kit - new
commander cupola, single headlight in the middle hull front and new type tracks(Page 78 and 79, Tiger I on the Eastern Front). It also had zimmerit.
