Kurt & Mike C.
The M4A3(w)75 at the Patton Museum has a partial set of these Convex roadwheels. I had not run across the type before.
Could they be a postwar product manufactured in France or Belgium to keep their Sherman fleet running after the US supplies dried up? (...or to stimulate industry under the Marshall Plan?)
Next time I go to the Fort, I'll check the tires for a rubber manufacturer.
The US put part numbers on everything else, did they stamp the roadwheels? Where should I look?
