It's possible, but I don't think our stuff ever dried up. We were
surplussing Sheman stuff off well into the '50s, while simultaneously giving
them the next generation tanks like the M47. My guess - and it's only a
guess - is that it was a style made later in the war.

You are right, they should be stamped, but I didn't see any numbers. It
might be on a surface hidden by the tire, it might be stamped small, or it
might have been ink stamped. I'd like to get a couple and strip them down.
