| Subject: | Marder III (Sdkfz 139) lower hull floor question | |
| Date: | Jun 24, 2003 |
| From: | Piotr Wypior | |
Hi ,
Would anyone tell me if Marder III (76,2 mm Sdkfz 139) had a wooden grating floor covering the fighting compartment, just under the transmission shaft assembly. I know that all the Czech LT-38 and German PzKpfw 38 (t) tanks had this type of floor, but it’s unclear to me if Marder III (r) vehicles had the same floor also. All photos I’ve seen (taken from museum vehicles and gathered from the web) don’t show such a floor on the Marder III. Can anyone confirm that this floor existed also inside Marder?
I’m using a CMK interior&engine on my Tamiya Marder III, which appears to be lacking this type of floor among the parts - in opposition to Verlinden set No. 1717 (Tamiya Marder III interior), which has this type of floor (made out of PE) among the parts. So guys, do I need to add/scratchbuilt this floor on my model?
Thanks for help,
Piotr |
