Jorge,
I have seen several war colour photos and captured images from colour films(on the internet) showing vehicles, soft skins and tanks, with the light sand (like?) colour. Don't know if they were original "dark yellow", they indeed did not look like "dark yellow" as we know. I found Tamiya acryclic XF57 pretty close to what I have seen on those pictures.
