The general concensus is that Bovington got it correct on the resto of the 504th Tiger 131; Desert Brown RAL 8020 and Khaki Green RAL 7008.
Poke around in here:

From reading Peter Gudgin's Tiger Tanks
(and Peter was in NA, had his Churchill knocked out by a Tiger - look for his book in your library, a must read on Tigers in NA),
the 501st was prepped for NA duty ahead of time, and arrived in "desert yellow" cammo.
The 504th was in France, and followed later, arriving in "European Green" cammo.
So maybe the 504th Tiger 131 was originally overall Khaki Green RAL 7008, while 501st Tigers were originally overall Desert Brown RAL 8020.
I'm inclined to believe that this is what Peter Gudgin meant. The 2-tone cammo blends of 504 were added later at the unit levels.
That said, there is also enough anecdotal evidence to support the notion that either sPzAbt would have used captured stocks of USGI OD Green, and so might add to their vehicles cammo for the temperate Tunisian clime.
