Friends,

I hope we're all friends here. I never have understood why so many of us in this hobby are so quick to assume that guys are always trying to insult each other. Maybe we just don't word things well enough? As an example, my post was never intended to start anything. I think I said it was just my opinion, and to take it for what it was worth. Nor did I intend to degrade anyone's modeling. If the modeler is happy with his work, that's the whole point. I have a friend who painted a Panther in several shades of pink ambush scheme. As far as he was concerned, it was perfect (as a pink panther). Modeling is supposed to be for the fun of it all.

What my post was intended to do was offer some comments to a thread farther below. I believe it was Jon who was asking about how "chipped" up a real tank was likely to get. I offered my opinion based on 9 years experience in the field with actual tanks. It was meant to help him, and anyone else out there who want to be as accurate with their models as they can be. I also offered my opinion so others could use it to make their own decisions as to what old, b & w pictures are actually showing. They are often very hard to decipher. I say again, I meant no harm by my post, I only wanted to offer one opinion to a fellow modeler in hopes that he might find some value in it.

Semper Fi, and Happy Modeling,
Joe
