Subject:  German MG tri-pod mounts?List thread.

I recently bought DML's MG42 HMG team kit (well today, actually) and I have a few questions which I hope someone can answer.
First, which color is correct for the tri-pod? The box illustration depicts it in "german yellow" but some pics I've seen show they were dark green. Which is right?
Another thing, on the frontmost (I don't even know if that's an english word but...) leg of the tri-pod there are some "pads" which I assume are there for comfort when carrying the thing around. On one small color photo from the war they seem to be in the same color as the tri-pod (green) but at a reenactment page I saw these pads being in leather brown. However, I don't know if the wartime photo is an actual colorphoto or if it has been colored and I don't know if the tri-pod at the reenactment page was the real deal or a replica. So do anyone have some answers?
