You are correct, most of the markings, other than the lone French M4A3E2 and
"Cobra King", most were kind of bland, you have to go for the odd stowage
that some units used to keep from being OD'ed to death. The 743rd at least
painted turret numbers on their tanks. I suspect that their Jumbos had the
numbers as soon as they arrived as it seems to have been standard practice
for that unit to have turret numbers. I have put up some other wartime
