I just went there once, by car.
However the French rail network is quite extensive an very good (unless
there is a strike which happens sometimes...).
You can take a TGV from Paris to Tours then change and take another train
ot Saumur, this is quite feasible. Check with a travel agent. No idea of
the distance between the Saumur train station and the museum but Saumur is
a small town and you could always take a taxi.
If you take an early TGV it is quite possible to leave Paris in the
morning, visit the museum and return to Paris in the evening. Otherwise
the Saumur region is really lovely and they have wonderful wine down there
so it's really worth staying there for a couple of days.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Christophe |
