When I went to Saumur a few years ago (on a business trip, with a 3 day
layover. Sweet!) I stayed with Spike Judd, editor of the MAFVA Tankette,
who runs a bed and breakfast in the area. I went to Saumur for about a
day and a half and happened to be there when the local Armoured Regiment
had their open day so got inside all kinds of french armour, including a
leClerc! Me and Spike must have looked like Commie spies or something as
we were all over that puppy, tapping and lifting. Did you know that the
external armour pieces are hollow? Or that, while they will let you
photograph the outside of the leClerc, you can't do so on the inside
("Pas de photograph, monsieur! Pas de photograph!).
