| Subject: | Tiger I fiefel air cleaners in Russia | |
| Date: | Jan 29, 2004 |

From winter 42 through most of 43 Tiger battalions in Russia would be issued with the early model Tiger 1 with drum cupola and fiefel air cleaners right? My question is in Russia would the fiefel air cleaners and their trunks be routinely used and connected? I have the SchPzAbt 503 book which shows some good photos of the rear of their Tigers advancing at Kursk. About half still seem to have their fiefel air cleaners on the rear of the tank, but I cannot see if they are still connected to the engine.
Does anyone know what the policy was in Russia regarding these air cleaners?
Thanks, I know this seems a bit esoteric, but if you are modelling an early Tiger in Russia it is an important question.
