The absolute upper limit for large hatch 75mm M4A1s is 1000 based on the
production contracts. It appears that at least 700 of these were small
hatch. The remainder provided the root stock for the American DDs as well
as these others. The more interesting feature of these vehicles is that
they were dry stowage, meaning that these M4A1(75)Ds join the M4A2(75)Ds as
the only large hatch, dry stowage, gun tanks.
