I have thought the colour underneath the zemmerit would be red - red
primer.
The cover photo of GP #118 has shown that it might not always be the
case.
It is a knocked out Tiger I. Colour looks like bare metal showing on the
left side of front plate.
And yellowish colour showing on the lower front plate.
Also out of interesting - Zimmerit was applied to the glacis plate.
