in refernce to my quest- turns out there was only 5 early Porsche turret Tiger II Bs deployed with this early track,
which was really used on prototypes. Panzerkompanie (Fkl) 316 got them but they weren't even battle worthy when delivered to the Pz. Lehr div. in Normandy. In the end they were deployed in some French town and used as stationary firing positions against the oncoming Allied forces and in the end were abandoned or destroyed by the retreating Germans.
Oh well, I'll do number 13-
and use the new Dragon Tiger II for the basis of the tank. I think I may have to change the exhaust system a little and there will be home made zim going on. (I'll use the tracks from the DML kit for a Tamiya Production Henschel Tiger II- it only comes with the rubber band type of tracks- which I used to upgrade an old Tamita Tiger II that I'm making for fun for meine Neffe.) |
