Ken,

I realize this might not be exactly what you are after if you prefer to scratchbuild it yourself, but Blast Models make an excellent aftermarket set for this : "SET DE DETAIL ET TOURELLEAU 12.7 FOR DUKW ref BL35008K".

You get some small detail parts for the front cab interior as well.

About 14 Euros if you live outside the European union.

I've got one and highly recommend it.
