Does anyone know if the towing hook set-up on the M4A3 105mm Sherman was changed (extended) in order to tow a M-10 trailer?

I have build the Tiger Models M-10 trailer but when I want to put it behind a M4A3 105mm there is so little space between the Sherman and the trailer that the trailer is almost touching the Sherman. I guess that the towing hook was extended in some way, but haven't found any photographic evidence for this.

Any help would be appreciated.
