| Subject: | WW2 flags... a few questions. | |

Ok, another query for you trivia addicts: Flags.
I know the Germans used the Hakenkruze (black 'stika in white circle on red background) for their air recognition 'panels', and the Allies had 5 different solid-color ones (can't remember where I found the Allied reference though) The US flag had 48 stars, the Brits used the Union Jack (didn't they?) and I'm not sure about the Russians... did they use the hammer & sickle back then?
I ~thought~ the Canadians used the Brit Red Ensign, the Auzzies already had their own flag (with the inset Jack upper left) and the Free French had theirs too, with that odd double-bar cross. Did the Scots & Irish units fly something besides the Jack?
What did German ground forces fly besides the HakenKruze? (or a surrender flag/rag!) Did either the Allies or Axis used pennants and/or guidons on antenna masts.
I ask as www.modelflags.com makes some decent ~fabric~ flags, but I want to get the right ones for a WW2 era setting. If I can add to their 'catalog' (by perhaps giving them the Allied panel references) perhaps they'll start making more armor-oriented ones. Most of their existing ones appear to be naval-oriented.
Before anyone mentions Archer, they're still on the fence about 1/16 flags (plus they aren't fabric)
The only other option for color fabric flags is printing 'em with stuff from www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk . They make cotton, felt & ~silk~, all inkjet printable on ~normal~ settings.
So, can anyone get me flag references? I may want to talk my nephew into printing me some cotton or silk ones...
