| Subject: | Re: Pz1 Ambulance Used by DAK? | |

Your question was a bit of a tickler. I looked through my Pzr 1 books and my DAK books as well. My material is by no means definative or exhaustive, but the only pictures I find of a Pzr 1 as an armored ambulance are those which had been converted from Sd kfz 265 command vehicles.I suppose field mods could have been carried out on Pzr 1s no longer deemed combat worthy, (and that would be all of them)but I found no pictures or mention of them specificly being utilized by DAK.
While that does not rule out such use I would think they were most likely limited to Poland ,France and early Soviet campaign.Higher eschelon units may have continued using vehicles long past their prime, but the DAK question doesn't look to promising.
Hope this helps..
