Paul has it right. The Canadian army acuqired a load of M4A2 after the war. The reserve armoured units used them up to the mid-60's, then retired the tanks as desplay items or for use as hard targets as reserve armoured units were converted to the reconnesance role. The Fort Garry Horse, based at McGregor Armouries at the time, had (if I recall correctly) 18, with around 4 at the armouries at any given time and the remainder at Shilo where they had room to run. The Winnipeg based units were used for emergency transport during the major snow event in '66.
