I really doubt that the V2 has an aluminum block on it because its a Diesel engine. Diesels engines have very high compression ratios and normally their pistion cyc have to be lot thicker then gas powered cousins due to the higher compression ratio and temptures that come with them. Even aluminum blocks on modern car engines aren't that wide spread since Steel is cheaper. Also Aluminum was a fairly rare material in WW2.
