The steelwheel Panthers were a batch of 23 modified vehicles( s/n 121032-121055) assembled at MAN in September 1944 after zimmerit was dropped but before chin mantlets and crew heaters were installed.
The vehicle referenced above, s/n 121052, was a factory test mule apparently assembled on September 22 1944 and later back fitted with the crew heater.
