Thank you for you detailed reply Bob. I am planning to build Tamyia's late G version of the panther (rubber roadwheels) and i've seen a photo of the late G version on the cover of Tom Jentz' book "Panther - the quest for combat supremacy".
This vehicle seems to have a base coat of the red-oxide primer with an additional yellow and green camo pattern, the chin gun mantlet, crew compartment heater and the flame supressing exhaust mufflers and, the only difference, steel roadwheels.
As i am planning to build the panther with the above mentioned camo scheme, i wonder if these vehicles (they must have been finished in November/early December 1944) where delivered to armoured divisions which participated in the battle of the bulge. |
