Good evening, Mati Raudsep,

You present a really illuminating example of wide-angle lens distortion. I was familiar with the SU-100 image you linked; indeed, it was among those that had me going about the potential difference in the suspension towers.

However, in response to my inquiry on another forum, Mark Rethoret kindly provided the following measurements he has taken of the real deal:

"The cross section of the DML towers is not quite right. If I recall the scaled up measurement of the DML part is about 12.75" (about 324mm) by 7.25" (about 184mm). On all the T-34s I measured the towers are approximately 8" x 8" (203mm x 203mm) with a variation of a bit more than .25" (6 to 7mm). BTW, this was true for both wartime and post war tanks (Model '42, "Model '43", T-34-85 [Post war], and SU-100."

So for the moment, I don't think that no. 3 is different, but all of them approx. 8" square, and at least for those visible in the fighting compartment, I will try bring the DML towers more into the correct cross section.

I might note that the Jaguar resin forward interior kit, replicates the error of the plastic parts of the parent (?) company. I'm not sure of the Verlinden update, altho' the box art picture I've seen also seem to have the rectangular section.

Best,
SJK
