KL worte,

"'inaccurate'" is quite loaded in modeling."

But in this case it is the right word--it needs no defense. I made the point that it didn't matter for a closed-hatch model, but if Dragon simply wanted to blank-off the springs themselves it would have been more rational for them to have done as Maquette does with their T-34s: make a suspension tower only so tall as to do the job.

In any event, Jaguar carry over the error (another "loaded" word) into their pricey interior resin sets for both hull compartments, doubtless based on the original plastic parts, and these of course are intended for viewing. And there are additional lapses in the detail of these towers. Eduard also provide an inaccurately dimensioned tower no. 5 in their T-34 interior set to match the wrongly dimensioned plastic ones. That's what happens when no one will call a spade a spade.

And although I haven't personally examined the Trumpeter kit or the new Verlinden update in 1/35, from scans of these products it appears they *may* also have followed suit. I would be interested in hearing from someone who actually has these items.

As far as the question of Imperial measurements, the dimensions quoted from Mark R. earlier are based on his personal inspection of T-34 chassises, so they are what they are.

Regards,
SJK
