Geoff is correct about all the designations.
For example, a Sherman IBY would be an M4 105mm howitzer tank with HVSS.
The Sherman V Duplex Drive does refer to the fact that the base Sherman was an M4A4. There were M4A1s that were converted to Duplex Drive as well (Sherman II DD) |
