the Germans on their side of things while the Americans broke out from their side. There were many assumptions that failed to materialize though. First off the Taking of Caen took much longer than was anticipated on the British side and the Hedgerows were not accounted for on the American side of things. Overall it worked out kind of like planned but took much longer than expected. I have never heard that the British were to lead the break out? This would be news to me? I haven't read the book you are talking about but could it be a misprint or an error? Curious now?
Cheers
Jeff
