Thanks to Kurt Laughlin and Tim Streeter I've settled on AFV Club rounds (further thanks to Sam Alderlieste!) with modified lift rings, Tiger fibre proppellent tubes (the ones on the left of this illustration www.tigermodels.com/shop/images/b_10580_1.jpg)and scratch built fuze cases- please correct me if any of this is wrong.
My last questions relate to colours. I've read that the switch from yellow for HE rounds to olive drab took place in '44 (not sure exactly when). Presumably large numbers of yellow painted rounds were stock piled prior to D-day, so would it be reasonable to go with yellow? I'm hoping the answer is yes, because the correct stencilling will be a lot easier to do in black with a draughtsmans pen than in yellow with a paint brush!
Secondly, for a bit of variety, I was planning on adding a few smoke rounds, any thoughts on the correct shade of gray?
