Thanks for the reply Mark :).
Other than the basics I know nothing much about allied armour.
The other reason that they may not always show up is that the jacket segments could a close fit on some barrels and spaced apart on others (my understanding of Russian engineering is that there were no tight tolerances to contend with). Just speculations by me regarding you have seen photos of the groves.
To give my kit a bit of individuality I think I’ll cut a new length of tube and not replicate the grooves.
