Hi there
After a break of some considerable time I would like to get back into model making having been inspired by reading Pegasus Bridge by Stephen Ambrose.
I've always been fascinated by German armour and vehicles and would love to build a series of dioramas based around the events of Pegasus Bridge. My first idea was based around the units of Major Von Luck and his inability to counter attack as nobody would make a decision. I wanted to create a scene with several vehicles awaiting instruction - with the general idea that they were ready to go at any second.
In my mind I would like to include a Sdkfz 251/1, a Pzkfw IV and possibly a motorbike / light jeep recon unit + some figures.
As a complete beginner I was wondering if you guys could give me some advice / links on where to start with the research. As it is a fictional scene I'm not going to make it super realistic - but would like to get vehicles / insignia / colour schemes pretty realistic.
Any help you can provide to a beginner would be gratefully received
