Paul,

I too have tried several different methods of applying zimmerit. Although I haven't heard of Zimm-it- rite, I have used Cavalier's products. And I must say this stuff works pretty good. But it usually dosen't get the look I'm trying to achieve.

What I found to work the best for me is to use the "Tamiya Method" with Tamiya Epoxy Putty [ITEM# 87051-400]. This is the quick type, but it has about half an hour of working time before it gets to hard to do any thing with. This putty also comes in a slower cure time, but I haven't tried it out yet. Also, you must keep your tools wet.

Also, during the war, a Panther A produced from one factory could have a different zimmerit pattern when compared to the same vehicle produced at the same time, but at a different factory. All because of the way different people understood the directive differently for applying the stuff. And a third factory might not have applied it at all! Off-hand I don't remember my source, but I will find it and get back to you with it.

Thank You for teaching me about a new product and a few other methods for appliyng zimmerit.

Stuart Henderson
