Well I see that riding around in one of those monsters was pretty close to my experiences in the early 70's in M113's and the Lynx R&C in Europe. What I do remember was on long road marches, the harmonic vibrations of the tracks on pavement played hell with your kidneys.Night driving was a real hoot with IR...no depth perception at all.I really never liked riding or driving the "tracks" buttoned up...I'd get an awful case of motion sickness...and the sound and smell was not for weak stomachs.Being Mechanised Infantry had it's drawbacks.Cleaning and greasing was a daily chore, and for a special treat there was always a track change....and always finding that "dead shoe" just as you thought you were finished. Ahh well, and why was it always the inner road wheels that shed?Ok ,nuff...But to me it sounds like you had a ball, and I'm glad you had that opportunity...and ya do look a bit warm in your paraphenalia ;)

Cheers
Mike Peplinski
