Kurt,

This tank was made between February and July 1943 because of the lack of pistol port and the owners already checked and told me it was the original turret with the tank. There are a lot of things added that show that it was a rebuilt for the National Gaurd. Newer vision cupola, applique armor, rear turret bustle mounts for the machine gun, added telscope kit for the M34 mantlet, torsion bar hinges for the engine deck are exterior visable items. It deffinately is a Gereral Casting turret with the G in shield stamped on the rear bustle. The owners also have paperwork documenting that it was rebuilt in 1953. At the time the data plates were not in the tank. harold said they are in 'a pile of stuff' where the tank is housed. Stamping on this turret is just left of the TC hatch on the roof. I sent some short video clips to Paul but he said something about space on the site and it wouldn't really work. maybe if you contact him he can forward them to you (I have dial-up and it took 2 hours for me to send them to Paul). They show the turret top quite well.

It was a blast!
