Thanks for the kind comments.

Since the mufflers aren't tapered I used a brass rod the correct diameter to round out the ends of the muffler form the shape. I have a burnisher from when I was a printmaker in college that works great for form brass parts like these. I used the burnisher to press the muffler pieces over the brass rod.

You are correct about the fenders being folded over but look careful at the photo and actual pictures of the Type 97 front fenders. The leading forward edge is not folded but actually just straight. Tamiya tried fixing this a little by beveling the kit a bit but it is still too thick on the edge. Be careful thinning this down because you still have to show the fold on the side. A square file helps tremendously doing this bit of detail.
