Ready to paint
Here is an overall view of the Shi-Ki prior to painting. The dual headlamps have yet to be installed and metal parts primed. The Tamiya kit is missing bolts on the final drive which you may notice in this photo. I really liked the Fruuilmodel metal tracks. They assemble fairly easy, have great detail, sag properly and give some weight to the kit. I would avoid the Modelkasten non-workable links due to the horns being poorly detailed. Modelkasten workable are nice, but they are more complicated to build (horns are separate pieces) and are almost twice the price of the Fruilmodel tracks. Kit tracks aren't too bad (see my Chi-Ha and Shinhoto tanks on this site) and the Fine Molds tracks are a bit better detailed. Still they are single piece tracks and need some 'special affects' to get them to sag. Comments welcome |
