A shot of the rear of the model, showing the exhausts consisting of Eduard, Tamiya and scratch parts. Note the scratchbuilt exhaust shields, and the details on the hull side. To make the MG more accurate, I cut off the MG from its ball and enlarged the flat face of the ball with a file. After that I reattached the MG and added a sighting hole and flap. Tool stowage largely remains to be added.
Note the row of rivets added to the top of the rear plate. These are not present on Tamiya's kit, because later versions of the tank had a box fitted here. I took an impression of the kit rivets by pressing Milliput onto the kit hull. After the Milliput had cured, I simply heated some sprue and pressed it into the Milliput mould. I cut off the rivets one by one and added them to the hull. Two of the rivets are flat-headed and were made from sliced plastic rod. |
