Wash Removed

These first images, (#1. & #2.) show the oil wash removed and all pieces coated with a Testors laquer dullcote. I normally use Humbrol matt 47 clear for this as I like the tooth that this clear coat imparts. This is useful in the next phase - drybrushing. The reason I went with the Testors is because I was out of the Humbrol - I should have waited- not much tooth with the Testors stuff.. Another thing I noticed in these photos is that on some of the high points the paint has been rubbed off more than I would have liked-. This is the result of not allowing enough time between prcedures, for the Future clear protective coat to cure and harden properly before the oil wash wash, which can be corrosive. The damage is not too bad though and can be rectified in th drybrushing application of the base color and cammo colors.
I also have begun to focus on bringing the armament up to snuff. (#3,#4.& #5.) Here I can be seen using my Dremel tool to cut a little muzzle piece for the main gun from a hypodermic needle. I also have used an X-acto knife to thin the barrel down nicely. The muzzle was glued on with thick cyanocrylate glue. (#6.)These are the wheels and tires coated with the clear coat.
