Painted wheels
Here the wheels and body have been weathered abit more with various dirt and dust colors with the airbrush, concentrating mainly on the lower aspects.
1., 2., & 3. show a wheel test fitted to see how it works.The tread is still coated with dust and dirt.(Tamiya "Buff" and Polly Scale "Dirt")
4.& 5.The tires are sprayed with the wheels placed snuggly on a tooth-pick and then placed in the chuck of my potable hand drill. It has lower RPM than the Dremel. With the drill spinning slowly I airbrush the outside edges of the tires.After that, the tire tread is brought back using the drill to spin the wheel while powdered charcol is applied with my finger, 6.& 7. The Tamiya wheel is show for comparision of details, 8. & 9. |
