Chapter 4: Turret: Finishing Details

Having finished the major work, some fine details needed to be added. I used the excellent clear resin Calibre35 replacement cupola (which will fit any of my Sherman projects, too!). I added details to the MG pintle and texture to the loader's hatch ring. Some wire handles, other small details and ABER photo-etch completed the two hatches. I used the Verlinden .50 cal with some ABER PE bits. I added spare WW2 Productions track links to replicate the three that were mounted vertically on the left turret side. I added their mounting points with styrene bits. The 3AD added a protector over the recuperator housing. I used sheet brass for this. Also, some hand holds rods were replicated with copper wire along the turret side. The grey and pink goop was my attempt to add some texture to the turret itself. It was a combination of Mr. Surfacer 500 and auto body filler. It was okay but I'll experiment more in the future.
