Chapter 2 - Other Bits Needed...
As the OP was built on vary late Ram chassis, you will need a lot of parts from different kits to get this right. This includes:
1) A good horizontal trailing arm Sherman VVSS suspension system with the 5-spoked pressed wheels, the solid idler and drive sprocket. I have a set of the ABM suspensions and will use those. Build the version with the risers for the return rollers.
2) An old Tamiya M3 Lee or Grant hull.
3) The turret from the H&K Ram kit, but it needs a pile of surgery as you will see in later chapters.
4) A rear hull plate from a Sherman (I had a spare Italeri M4A1 hanging about).
5) Some T54 steel chevron tracks (I will use RHPS).
6) Lots of patience as there will be much cutting, filling and filing. |
