Tracks
For this project I used the Fruilmodel metal tracks. in my opinion these are the best tracks for this particular tank. I have used kit tracks, Modelkasten and Modelkasten workable. These can be seen on other tanks that I have downloaded on this site and in Military Modeling International. A shows the tracks in thier bare form of white metal. B shows the tracks spray painted Tamiya flat black. Prior to painting with the Tamiya acrylic the tracks were primed with Floquil figure primer. D ilustrates the tracks painted with Windsor/Newton burnt sienna watercolor mixed with Bragdon medium rust and a final coat of Rustall. C has been dry-brushed with PollyScale graphite on all wear areas of the tracks. I assume that areas rubbed by the sprocket, road wheels and guide pins would wear. E shows the final wear ares rubbed with a No. 2 pencil that flattens any rough paint but also creates a very realistic metal shine without being an out of scale 'silver'. |
