Chapter 4 - Body Parts
Here you can see the fiddly bits I've added to the one piece molded body of the Willys.
1. I have cleaned up the mold seam marks ands gotten rid of some of those pesky knock-out marks. I use steel wool to burnish it up nice.
2. shows the feeble attempt at gas, brake, and clutch pedals from Tamiya. I will fix that up...
3. Here I am making a little pad for the driver and passenger sides. Just some plastic card cross hatched with the back-side of an X-acto.
4. I used a black marker prior to scratching to see where I was with the criss cross pattern.
5. The plastic pedals made of Evergreen plastic cut to size.
6. A close-up showing the pedals glued to some sheet metal strips.
7. The pedals and mats in place and you can see the water droplets after a cleaning with dish soap in preparation to painting.
8. Chassis and body ready for mating. |
