Doug,

I should've been more clear in the entry. This is only a dry fit and the slats are still separate from the box that holds them. I just inserted them for the photo. I will be using my "Bug" PE tool to straighten the part with the wave in it, and then glue into the armor side as you suggest.

To answer your query, it is very much possible.
