Chapter 13 - Fighting Compartment Part 4
Here we have the fighting compartment mounted onto the hull and the model primed in basic red brown.
I have to say I was glad I did all the dry fitting on the fighting compartment, and very glad that I assembled it off the hull first.
I started at the front and attached the completed fighting compartment to part C15 which was already mounted at the correct angle on the hull.
I worked my way around slowly until everything had a dose of glue and then things were allowed to set several hours in a PanaVise.
The one thing I'm not happy with is the fit around the engine grills shown below. On the real vehicle there was no seem at all, let alone the gaps left here. This won't be hidden by track and will need to be filled.
Everything else fit pretty well though and soon it will be time to decide on a final scheme and get to painting. |
