Fixing the Upper Hull

I have attached the upper hull. The upper hull consisted of the top plate, rear deck and frames that the fenders were attached to. The side and front armour plates then are to be glued to these internal frames. Since I am using the new Aber fenders for this kit I cut off the moulded on fenders.

Without the attached fenders assembly is quite tricky, as there are less "positive" attachment points between the upper and lower hull. After much trial and error I determined that it was best to glue the front first and then the two mid attachment braces and finally, after the glue had set, the rear deck to the lower hull. I glued the top rear plate to the rear deck first.

The front glacis plate was then glued on followed by the left and right side upper hull panels. The fit is excellent overall and the resulting "hull" is surprisingly solid.

There are no sponson floors now, I'll be adding these next, I'll just make them from sheet styrene.
