Paul,

Re: the photo of the assembled hull, I take it that the plasticard shims you have attached to the transmission cover plate wouldn't have been needed if you were using the kit-supplied fenders? I only ask this because I have this kit in my "to build" pile & would like to identify any possible shortcomings before I start work on it.

Also, does the same apply to the shims you've attached to the rear plate? I'd like to know whether I need to do any surgery to the kit to build it OTB. Many thanks.
