Subject:  Wheels are not spaced evenly on the real Pz IV...List thread.

Um, road wheels of the real Pz IV are NOT spaced evenly.

This was discovered during the (rather heated) discussion on DML Pz IV ausf E (original one) about a year ago. Until then, people thought that eight road wheels were evenly spaced on Pz IV. Published drawings, including trusted Doyle's, all indicated so too.

However, Saul Garcia pointed out that according to the known dimention of Pz IV, gap between bogies are slightly larger than the gap between two wheels on the same bogie. The difference is very small and should be 0.2mm or less in 1/35.

Thus, if you see the wheels are not evenly spaced on your kit. You may think the kit manufacturer got it right :-) Well, actually, the difference is so small in 1/35, it shouldn't be so obvious in 1/35 kit.

Do you find bogies are aligned on Trister kit so much inconsistenly? More than the reasonable(?) rendition of the uneven spacing on the real vehicle?
