Step 9 - Tracks and Suspension

Here we see the ModelKasten influence. Although the tracks are not fully workable, they do have hollow teeth and are the correct 36cm width. Be careful as they are handed. The track pins should face the outside of the vehicle. These tracks also suffer from a little flash. If I found the tracks snapped together but had some flash, so I added cement to soften them up so they would fit. If you do this you must fit the tracks soon after before the cement dries.

I have shown The DML magic track next to the Tristar. Both have good points but I found the DML much cleaner with no flash and easier to with.

I have questioned the spacing between the wheels but some BLOGS mention the Pz.IV wheels where never spaced the same so any comment would be welcome here.

As my project progresses I have become a little more use to the kit and see a lot of the nice detail. I feel in time Tristar can be as good or better than Tamiya and DML.
